100 Years – 100 Stories

Historical Series Celebrates 100 years of Reno Rodeo

The Reno Rodeo 100 is a multimedia project produced by photographer and filmmaker Jessi LeMay. Leading up the 100-year celebration she collected stories from one hundred years of Reno Rodeo.

“These powerful stories represent the rich history of the Reno Rodeo and Western lifestyle in Northern Nevada,” said Jessi LeMay, producer of Reno Rodeo 100 Years 100 Stories and Creator of The Folk & The Lore. “I believe that when you know your neighbor’s story, not only do you feel more connected to your community, but those stories become part of your own lore.”

The Reno Rodeo 100 project was a community partnership between the Reno Rodeo Association and the Reno Rodeo Foundation. Funding was in part, provided by the City of Reno Arts & Culture Commission with support from the Nevada Historical Society and the Nevada Museum of Art.

Committed to enhancing and enriching the lives of Northern Nevada families by aiding children with extraordinary needs, building community partnerships, providing a Rodeo Wish, and funding community grants and educational scholarships.
