The Reno Rodeo Flag Team, composed of 50 cowgirls, using their own horses, tack, and time, is one of the toughest challenges and most rewarding committees in the association. Ladies and their horses must try out each year to become part of this prestigious group. Generally the tryouts are scheduled in April. All through May and June there is practice after practice.
The fun comes when this well-rehearsed team comes together to perform, carrying the American and state flags, sponsors flags, and sometimes showing off some drill team maneuvers each evening of the rodeo and extreme bulls.
