RENO, Nev. (January 22, 2024) — The quest to find Miss Reno Rodeo 2025 is underway! The Miss Reno Rodeo pageant presents a thrilling opportunity for contestants to vie for the esteemed role of goodwill ambassador for the 106th Reno Rodeo. Eligible Nevada women, aged 19-25, with a passion for horsemanship, travel, and rodeo culture are invited to submit applications by 4 p.m. on March 29.

According to the Reno Rodeo, ideal candidates for Miss Reno Rodeo embody poise and elegance while embracing a sense of fun and a willingness to get their boots dirty. Miss Reno Rodeo upholds integrity and demonstrates unwavering honesty and reliability. The Miss Reno Rodeo pageant reflects the rich history of Nevada and Reno Rodeo, with Miss Reno Rodeo playing a pivotal role in that legacy.

The pageant is scheduled for June 12-14, 2024, at various locations across Reno. Contestants will be evaluated on public speaking, horsemanship skills, and knowledge of equine and rodeo topics. The coronation ceremony is set for Friday, June 14, at 5:30 p.m., marking the moment when the winner will be crowned Miss Reno Rodeo 2025.

Whoever is crowned Miss Reno Rodeo 2025 will be Lady in Waiting to the reigning Miss Reno Rodeo, Jessica Betz, who will pass the crown on the final night of the Reno Rodeo on Saturday, June 29.

For Betz, the rodeo has been a lifelong passion cultivated by her father, Scott Betz, who worked for Nelson Electric, the Reno Rodeo’s electrical contractor. Since the age of two, Jessica has considered the Reno Rodeo her second home, earning her first belt buckle at seven in mutton busting. Now 21 years old and studying Equine Sciences and Ranch Management at Feather River College, Betz aspires to serve the Reno Rodeo president and board as well as her community.

Beyond her Miss Reno Rodeo duties, she continues volunteering with the Reno Rodeo Foundation and is pursuing a professional barrel racing career. Upon graduation, Betz plans to expand her business, Divine Heights Performance Horses, focusing on breeding, training, and rehabilitating barrel horses. Her journey reflects a deep passion for her faith, family, friends, and the sport of rodeo.
