RENO, Nev. (March 13, 2015) – The Reno Rodeo Association’s Executive Committee has approved the hiring of George Combs as the new general manager of the wildest, richest rodeo in the west.
Combs has been involved in rodeo much of his life from competing in team roping and tie-down roping in his younger days to making a career for himself with the Caldwell Night Rodeo in Caldwell, Idaho, his home town. Combs has spent more than 20 years with the Caldwell Night Rodeo, gaining experience from serving as a part of the committee, as a member of the board of directors and as the rodeo’s business manager and marketing director.
This will be the first time Combs has ever moved away from Caldwell, Idaho in his 52 years. He grew up in Caldwell and raised his own children there, but Reno is not foreign territory to him as he has frequently attended the Reno Rodeo in the past.
Combs’ qualifications and experience landed him the job as the Reno Rodeo’s new general manager, a position that while vacant was being filled by the 2015 Reno Rodeo President, Larry Stacy. The Reno Rodeo Association is happy to welcome Combs as the new general manager and is looking forward to an excellent season that will begin in three short months.
