RENO, Nev. (May 1, 2015) – The Businessmen’s Steer Decorating contest at the Reno Rodeo gives the community a chance to be a part of the “Wildest Richest Rodeo in the West.” The contest is open to any two person team who has the desire and bravery to enter the arena for a truly good time and a chance to become the 2015 BSD Championship Team.
Held during each nightly performance of the rodeo, the event itself consists of 12 teams of two people each, one who will hold the steer and the other who will decorate the steer by tying a ribbon on the steer’s tail. The team that decorates their steer the fastest wins the round with the top two teams from each night’s performance returning on finals night June 27 to determine the 2015 BSD Championship Team.
“The Businessmen’s Steer Decorating event is the best way for our business community to get their boots dirty and experience Reno Rodeo at a whole new level,” said Reno Rodeo President, Larry Stacy. “And it’s just a whole heck of a lot of fun.”
Those interested can participate by either sponsoring a team for $100 or by being on a team after securing sponsorship. Sponsoring businesses will be listed at one of the main rodeo gate entrances during the night in which their team performs and their name will be announced during the event performance.
“In addition to great publicity for the sponsoring business, contestants and sponsors will receive Reno Rodeo tickets, a parking pass, nearly five whole minutes of glory in the famed Reno Rodeo arena plus bragging rights and a chance at the highly coveted Reno Rodeo Championship belt buckle,” said Stacy.
Registration is now open through May 29 at 5 p.m. Spaces fill up fast and performances are assigned on a first come, first served basis. For more information, call 775-329-3877 x 211 or email [email protected].
