According to the Reno Rodeo, ideal candidates for Miss Reno Rodeo embody poise and elegance while embracing a sense of fun and a willingness to get their boots dirty. Miss Reno Rodeo upholds integrity and demonstrates unwavering honesty and reliability. The Miss Reno Rodeo pageant reflects the rich history of Nevada and Reno Rodeo, with Miss Reno Rodeo playing a pivotal role in that legacy.
The pageant is scheduled for June 11–13, 2025, at various locations across Reno. Contestants will be evaluated on public speaking, horsemanship skills and knowledge of equine and rodeo topics. The coronation ceremony is set for Friday, June 13, at 5:30 p.m., marking the moment when the winner will be crowned Miss Reno Rodeo 2026.
Interested candidates are invited to visit the Reno Rodeo Office on Thursday, Jan. 16 starting at 6 p.m. for an information evening to learn about what to expect, get any questions answered and more.
Whoever is crowned Miss Reno Rodeo 2026 will be Lady in Waiting to the reigning Miss Reno Rodeo, McKinna Jackson, who will pass the crown on the final night of the Reno Rodeo on Saturday, June 28.
For Jackson, becoming Miss Reno Rodeo has been an honor and a continuation of her passion for the Western lifestyle. For over six years, she was a member of the Reno Rodeo Flag Team and had the prestigious honor of carrying the American Flag for all ten nights of the 2021 Reno Rodeo.
Raised in Gardnerville, Jackson graduated from Douglas High School and went on to earn a certificate from Texas Horseshoeing School in Scurry, Tex. After refining her farrier skills, McKinna realized that home truly means Nevada and returned to Gardnerville. In addition to her enthusiasm for outdoor activities, Jackson is passionate about being involved in her community. She dedicates her time to serving on the Board of Directors for the Carson Valley Roping Club, volunteering with her local Fire Department, and supporting her favorite philanthropy, Between Horses and Humans—a local nonprofit program that helps youth develop life skills through horsemanship.
