>RENO, Nev. (June 13, 2017)— Jay Norvell, the head coach of the Nevada Wolf Pack football team, is serving as grand marshal in the Reno Rodeo Parade, taking place Saturday, June 17 at 10 a.m.
“We are thrilled to have Jay Norvell as our Grand Marshal in this year’s parade,” said 2017 Reno Rodeo President, Brad Sidener. “Every year the Reno Rodeo parade highlights some of the most noteworthy businesses and individuals within our community, and coach Norvell certainly fits in that category.”
“I’m excited for the honor of serving as the grand marshal for this year’s Reno Rodeo Parade and for the Wolf Pack to be part of such a great community event,” said Nevada head coach Jay Norvell.
This Reno Rodeo parade takes place in Midtown beginning at 10 a.m. and will march north on Virginia Street, from Arroyo to Liberty Street. Spectators will see hundreds of horses plus wagons, the Legendary Longhorns, Miss Reno Rodeo, the Idaho potato truck, winners from the Cowboy Truck Show and more.
A Kid’s Center will be set up in the Happy Happy Joy Joy/Sippees parking lot, and Süp will be featuring music, drinks and Reno Rodeo Steak Chili. The Saint will offer Reno Rodeo Legacy Vodka bloody marys and bucking mules and will have two free line dancing classes at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Additional Midtown bars, restaurants and business will remain open during and following the parade.
